Quickshot
by Patty Tohidi
Back in 2007 I was down to one horse again, Once I got 2 and someone saw my adopted rescue Arabian running in field they loved him ... Her horse had died and was thrown
off by a thoroughbred and promised never to ride again. But My Gelding Bay Arabian took her heart ... so I let their hearts connect ... I let her have him for $900.00.
I said I have to have another horse for my mare Arabian is getting up there 27 years old and needs a brother again.
So I got on Dreamhorse.com. My friend's daughter had bought a Mustang from Wyoming, dark chestnut. He was so smart and friendly so I decided to type in Mustang breed.
WOW TO MY AMAZEMENT IT SAID FREE Mustang ... not broke or even halter broke just loved and fed. So I went to go see him. In his soft eyes I saw real potential.
Not aggressive, actually afraid of grown ups, so I said I'll take him. They delivered him running out of trailer into paddock. There he remained. For 6 months
he was loved by all the people at barn. So many people to trust. He finally let me touch him, boy did he like it. He had this tough hard shell that I just couldn't bend ... so
I moved him again to another farm ... just love being with any horse around.
The lady said he has to be trained like the other horses. I just loved and not enough tough love,
so I investigated only Mustang trainers. I found one to help me. She evaluated him and said he is a toughie but I try to see what I can do.
Well after a week she said a tiny bit
progress he is a toughie. Well the second week she said Patty you were right. He came and put his head on her shoulder and gentling became better. After 3 months I'm seeing him
I would cry happy tears to see that time and patience broke his hard shell and now he is so respectful to people than other domestic horses, and loving and trusting of me and
anyone who shows love and carrots.
He has alerted me when other horses have escaped from barn. Stayed in cool woods way back to get him when he knows I almost passed out from heat. And gets along with
any horse around him. And loves the human touch of hugs.
He will be my legs when I can't stand long anymore, and my happiness God has brought when people try to make me miserable. He has taught me that real time spend can
change animals attitudes and even peoples. He knows when I'm there to stay for a few minutes and when it's long time staying.
Mustangs the tool God uses to build human character stronger, unconditional shaking things off when things seem to tolerable.
My Quickshot Mustang and My Arabian are the joy and vacations that one always has. Thank you Jesus for the blessing I like to share with others, to bring them
smiles like my horses have bought me.
